Mingan Island Cetacean Study centre

Take in the magic of the Minganie coastline from Route 138, i.e. the natural elements that define the North Shore, and especially the Minganie region: plains, barrens, boreal forest, majestic rivers, etc.

At Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan, discover the marine mammals that call the gulf of Saint Lawrence home and visit the Mingan Island Cetacean Study centre, where you will learn from the scientific fieldwork carried out in the region. Lifesize sculptures and frescos, a sound room to familiarize yourself with the different species, the sounds they emit and how they behave in their natural habitats. Plus “Islands in the sea,” a new exhibit by Parks Canada that connects you with the resources on the western part of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve and provides an overview of the resources found across the entire Mingan Archipelago region.
